Honed tubes are mainly used in engineering, metallurgy, plastics, mining, road construction, textile and other industries. The processing forms of honed tubes mainly include cold rolling, cold drawing and honing.
Here I’d like to mainly introduce the difference between honed tube and polishing tube.
The honed tube is made of a high-precision grinding process, which is not only used for round holes, but also for hardened tooth surfaces, which is also a polishing method. It can be used as a combined grinding tool and can be mounted on a floating fixture, making it self-adjusting. Therefore, the shape error of the hole can be reduced, but the geometric error of the hole cannot be reduced.
The polishing tube uses a soft polishing wheel or a disc-shaped polishing disc, plus polishing paste, so that the workpiece can be finished with a high surface finish. However, geometric errors cannot be reduced due to the absence of rigid datums during machining. However, compared to honing tubes, it can polish irregular surfaces.
