The hydraulic cylinders are consist of many different parts, the performance of each part affects the function and effectivity of the hydraulic cylinder. So it is very important to know what parts of the hydraulic cylinders are easily to damage, so that we can take measures to prevent damages from happening.
Here below are the main parts of hydraulic cylinder which are easily to be damaged.
1. The Hydraulic cylinder barrel
This is the main part of a hydraulic cylinder, and it is known as hydraulic cylinder tube also. Generally, the cracks appear on the inner wall of the hydraulic cylinder tube and gradually develop outward. The lines develop outward, and the cracks are mostly distributed longitudinally, or form a 40-degree angle with the cylinder wall generatrix.
2. The flange part of the cylinder.
First, lines appear on the outer surface of the cylinder flange at the transition arc, and gradually expand to the circumferential direction and the inner wall, or the crack expands to the nail hole, causing the flange to partially fall off. In some serious cases, the flange may be adjusted along the transition arc. The loop cracked and fell off.
3. The bottom of the cylinder.
First, a circular crack began to appear on the inner surface of the transition arc at the bottom of the cylinder, and gradually expanded to the outer wall, which was a crack.
4. Cavitation.
The hydraulic cylinder is also damaged due to honeycomb pitting caused by cavitation, and it is easy to cause cavitation on the inner wall of the entry hole!
5. Design reasons.
The structural size design is unreasonable, such as the flange height is too small or the flange outer diameter is too large, so that the integrated should be too high and damaged.
6. Hydraulic piston rods
The hydraulic piston rod is usually made of cromado bar, it is known as cylinder rod also. This part usually bears high stress, so if the mechanical properties of the chrome plated bar is not good, or if it is not properly heat treated (for example the induction hardened chrome plated bar are not hardened ), the hydraulic piston rods are easily damaged also.
The hydraulic oil cylinder is composed of the main engine and the control mechanism. The main part of the hydraulic press includes the hydraulic cylinder barrel, the main cylinder, the ejector cylinder and the liquid filling device. The power mechanism is composed of a fuel tank, a high-pressure pump, a low-pressure control system, an electric motor, and different pressure valves and directional valves. The general form of the hydraulic cylinder of a power hydraulic machine is a thick-walled high-pressure hydraulic cylinder tube with one end open and one end closed. The structure of the hydraulic cylinder of a hydraulic press can generally be divided into three parts, namely the cylinder bottom, the flange and the middle thick-walled cylinder. The working cylinder of a hydraulic press is heavily loaded and works frequently, and is often damaged prematurely due to improper design, poor manufacturing or wrongly use.
