Chrome plated bar for hydraulic cylinder piston rods are generally made of high-quality carbon steel, mostly 1045 steel and 4140 steel. Stainless steel is used for applications with corrosive gases.
In order to improve the hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, the material of the piston rod usually requires surface quenching treatment, the quenching depth is 0.5 ~ 1mm, the hardness is usually HRC50 ~ 60, and then the surface is chrome plated, and the thickness of the plating layer is 0.03 ~ 0.05mm.
The requirements for the chrome plated rod of the hydraulic cylinder are as follows:
1. The dimensional tolerance of the outer diameter of the piston rod is mostly f7, and some use f8 and f9.
2. Straightness ≤0.02/100mm.
3. The geometric accuracy error such as roundness is generally not more than half of the outer diameter tolerance.
4. The tolerance of the coaxiality between the journal and the outer circle matched with the inner hole of the piston should not be greater than 0.01~0.02mm; the tolerance of the perpendicularity between the shaft shoulder of the installed piston and the axis of the piston rod should not be greater than 0.04/100mm.
5. The coaxiality tolerance of the keyway, thread and buffer plunger at the end of the cylinder piston rod and the rod diameter is not more than 0.01~0.02mm. The buffer plunger uses the end of the piston rod itself.
6. The surface roughness is generally Ra0.2~0.4μm, when the precision is high, it is taken as Ra≤0.1~0.2μm.
Our factory Skyline produces and supplies full range of chrome plated rods, induction chrome plated bar, hard chrome plated shafting for various cylinder rod applications.
